Find out "Korea offers the F2-R visa"

Korea offers the F2-R visa, targeting foreigners in low-population areas engaging in work or start-up activities. Ideal for legal residents with D2, D10, or E7 visas, the F2-R visa stands out among Korean visas like F5, F4, and F2, offering residency freedom, easy extension, and family invitation privileges.

Though the F2-R visa, a regional specialty, ensures residency, it requires a 5-year commitment in a declining population area for business or employment. Non-compliance leads to visa revocation. Despite regional limits, it mirrors other residence visas in benefits.

Unlike other visas demanding lengthy processes, the F2-R is accessible immediately with basic requirements fulfilled for study, job-seeking, or employment visas. Criteria include TOPIK level 3, meeting income or education standards (70% of the prior year's GNI or an associate's degree), and confirmed employment or business start in a declining population area. Specific regional details will be announced on January 26th.

Residency and business/employment should align with the local government's project area, necessitating a recommendation letter. A specific country's quota must not exceed 40% in local government.

Employment requires confirmed work in a designated industry by the application date, with a 3-month work initiation and a minimum 1-year contract. Business start-ups need a 200 million won investment in a designated industry, with residence and business in the same basic local government area.

Both employment and business must commit to 5-year continuity in the designated area. Post-2 years, working or business in the selected basic local government within the metro area is permissible, but restricted to the initially permitted industry.

Switching between employment and business is feasible within specified conditions.
