🔹 Job Description
Computer System Designers and Analysts (2221) plan and design how computer systems handle and process data efficiently.
They decide on system structure, input/output formats, data flow, access methods, and database structure.
Example roles:
Information Systems Consultant, Network Consultant, Database Consultant, Information Security Expert, System Auditor, System Designer, System Analyst.
Employment recommendation issued by:
- Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (KOTRA)
- Ministry of SMEs and Startups (for small and medium-sized enterprises only)
🔹 Qualification Requirements
General Requirements (one of the following):
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Bachelor’s degree + at least 1 year of experience
- 5 years of relevant work experience
Special Cases (Exceptions):
- Worked for over 1 year at a Global Top 500 company
- Graduated (or expected to graduate) from a Top 200 (Time) / Top 500 (QS) university — 1-year experience not required
- Korean college graduates (associate degree) → experience waived
- Korean university graduates (bachelor’s or higher) → eligible regardless of major if employer necessity is recognized
- D-2-7 (Work-Study) graduates are exempt from the 20% Korean employment ratio
💰 Minimum annual salary: KRW 28.67 million (as of 2025)
🔹 Documents for Changing Visa Status
- Application form (Form 34), passport, ARC, photo, fee
- Employment contract
- Business documents (registration certificate, corporate register)
- Career certificate
- Recommendation from the relevant ministry or document proving the need for employment
- National and local tax payment certificates
🔹 Extension of Stay
- Application form (Form 34), passport, ARC, fee
- Employment contract
- Income statement (from tax office) or withholding tax receipt (from employer)
- Business registration certificate or corporate register
- Proof of residence (rental contract, accommodation certificate, etc.)
- Employer’s tax payment certificates (confirming no arrears and active business)
🔹 Change or Addition of Workplace
- Must report within 15 days after the change occurs (proxy reporting allowed).
- In-person visit is required since a sticker is added to the passport.
- Required documents: integrated application form, passport, ARC, employment contract,
- recommendation letter or proof of employment necessity, consent from previous employer (if applicable), and business registration certificate.
